Go Strong

Good job, Lance!
I am writing from my brother’s place in Philadelphia, which I leave tomorrow to go back to good old Europe for a while. ICPSR is over and it has left a bitter-sweet feeling in me. I met so many people and had fun, even through insanely long homeworks, and I wish I had a bit more time there. I loved the ambiance of Ann Arbor and I hope to go back there sometime again for some more nice people, nice coffee, and nice parks. So it was kind of sad to leave, as usual I got attached to a place even though I was only there for a month. I will put up some photos soon.
On the other hand, I will be home so very soon that the excitement caused by anticipating hugs and kisses and family reuinions has totally set in. For the next month, I will sleep late, drink all the espresso I want, go to the Black sea beaches, climb the mountains around Sofia, meet with old friends and make new ones. Join me.
March of the Penguins really makes you think about the fragility of life. Given all the bad things that can happen all the time, it’s a small miracle that we are here now. A beautiful film with a great message, watch it.
Sitting on the grass outside the geek lounge is so refreshing. The arts fair is about to start so this town is a complete mess - stands everywhere, artists mingling with common folk. Actually, the definition of common folk in Ann Arbor, Michigan is blurry. I fell in love with the town, reminds me a bit of Colgate, just on a much larger scale. Tomorrow I think it’s time to do a photo hunt of the things that have been surrounding me for a month. And time for blissful forgetting and unlearning.
Not too much to say, overall. I have become the boring non-existent blogger who shows up once in a while and writes stupid things. I don’t even feel like complete sentences lately, so for all who have been asking about my news, here is a list:
In my headphones: Ice Queen
In my wallet : less than 15 dollars till Friday
In my dreams: mojitos at Mojito
On my shelf: Siddhartha
By my side: my dear Sophy, always
In my mind: a jumble of statistics and running shoes
Down the street from my house: Pepe Lopez, seltzer and limes= $7.50, store open till 3 am.
Next week: D.C., Philly, London, Prague, Sofia, Sofia, Sofia …
Drop me a line, send me a letter, call me. I want to hear from you!
Dr. Harkovy knows what I am talking about precisely. I just need to be out of here, soon. No, sooner!
